In the beginning of 2009, I decided to no longer attend your typical Sunday morning church service.  I chose that for a number of reasons.  Some of which are:

• Church was boring
• Felt disengaged
• Anything that I would like to do within the church needed pastoral approval
• Did not seem relevant
• Surely, going Sunday morning for an hour to hour and a half is not what Jesus came and died for.  There has to be something more.

And so I went.  Let me tell you, I have not looked back.  This truly was the best decision I could have made.

Since I left, I discovered a number of people who also do not attend your typical Sunday morning church service.  Some have left for similar reasons that I have, others left due to hurts and pains from those within the building, and others frankly have no desire to ever step inside a church building; never have, never will.

While on my journey, however, I have run into others who are seeking Jesus in an authentic way.  A couple are David D. Flowers, author of "Organic Church Life Series" and Katie Driver who wrote these words to me,"The adventure and communion with God is in the journey, not in the destination".  Both have helped me understand that even though I left the traditional church, doesn't mean one needs to fill it up with something else.  House church, home church, organic church or whatever you want to call it is not the answer.  Those are great things, don't get me wrong.  But getting to know Jesus in an authentic way is much greater.  Then go and share your life with others experiencing Jesus in an authentic way.

In addition to many articles found on this site from numerous people, I have included a few videos below for those just investigating or just starting out this new authentic way of life.  Please don't hesitant to contact me with any questions.  I don't have all the answers, but I am willing to share my experiences deeper.  Enjoy your ride!
